Welcome To Forest Heights

School Hours - 8:15 a.m. - 3:35 p.m.

Arrival Time - Students are not to arrive at school before 7:50 a.m. since teachers are not on duty until 7:55 a.m.  

Parents who need to enter the school must park in the available space in the parking lot.  Please do not leave your car unattended in the driveway/bus zone area. 

Breakfast - Breakfast is served to all students beginning at 7:55 a.m.  Students may eat breakfast and then go to their classrooms.  Students who do not eat breakfast report to their classrooms upon arrival.    

Checking In - If a student arrives after 8:15 a.m., he/she must report to the office in order to check in.  The student's parent/guardian must accompany the student to the office.

Checking Out - Parents/guardians must come to the school office to check out students during the school day.  Students may not check out after 2:45 p.m.  If your child has to leave early for an appointment,  please arrange to check out your child prior to 2:45 p.m. 
Parents/guardians do not go to the classrooms to pick up their child/children.  The secretary will call your child/children to the office for check out.

Dismissal Procedures - All students remain in their classrooms until they are called to the front of the school for dismissal.  Students who ride busses or daycare vans are dismissed first.  Then, students who walk or ride in a car are dismissed.  Students who walk home are escorted by teachers to the sidewalk areas.  Students who ride in a car wait with their teachers in front of the school until they are picked up.  All students need to be picked up by 3:40 p.m.

If a student is going home in a different way than usual, the parent/guardian must send a note to the child's teacher.  In the case of an emergency, please notify the school office before 2:45 p.m.

Second Step Program

Safe Schools Healthy Students is a "Too Good for Drugs and Violence" prevention curriculum.  This curriculum is designed to teach all students social/emotional skills that will result in a decrease in the use of drugs and a decrease in antisocial and violent behavior.

This program will begin in October. Remember to ask your child/children to tell you about the Safe Schools Healthy Students lesson of the day.
