Discipline Plan
In order to maintain a classroom that allows all children to learn, I have developed a classroom discipline plan. Please read and discuss the following rules, consequences, and rewards with your child.
Rules
These rules will be in effect at all times in my classroom:
Be Respectful
-Raise your hand for permission to speak.
-Speak kindly to everyone (classmates and teachers)
Be Responsible
-Come to class with all necessary materials.
-Stay in your assigned area/seat.
Be Safe
-Keep your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.
Consequences
When a student chooses not to follow these rules:
1. The first time a student breaks a rule – warning.
2. The second time a student breaks a rule – Move card to yellow; X in daily conduct; 2 minutes no recess
3. The third time a student breaks a rule - Move card to orange; XX in daily conduct; no recess
4. The fourth time a student breaks a rule – Move card to red; XXX in daily conduct, in-class time out, behavior reflection, contact parents
5. If a student receives a behavior referral note 3 times, he or she will be sent to the Time Out Room (TOR) on the fourth offence.
6. Students could be sent automatically to TOR for serious offences.
Rewards
Students who behave appropriately will be positively rewarded.
Dailyà praise, classroom stickers, “Lion Loot” tickets
Weeklyà “Lion Loot” tickets will be drawn weekly in the “Lion Loot Lottery”
Monthlyà Students who receive a certain number of “Lion Loot” tickets will participate in a school-wide incentive party.
Periodicallyà Students who receive 10 classroom stickers will receive classroom treasure chest reward.
I have discussed these rules and consequences with all of the students in my class, but I would appreciate it if you would review the rules, consequences, and rewards with your child. Thank you for your support. This year will be successful if we work together.
